Madam Manye Maku,the queen mother of Bornya traditional area ,in The Yilo Krobo municipality has warn against what she called evil men, who wants to take advantage of vulnerable girls during this covid-19 .
She made this caution during a short ceremony at her palace to educate young girls on the dangers of teenage pregnancy and other sexually transmitted diseases. ‘The world is faced with Corona virus and has no doubt affected the income of households, so i implore all men, not to exploit the situation by luring young girls for sexual favors’
Renowned for her campaign for women, and girl-child education, madam Maku urged the government and related institutions to strictly enforce divorce rights so Ghanaian women, like the advanced countries can be well compensated, so as to be able to sponsor their children’s education during challenging times ,She added.
Known in private life as Helen-Mary Seade. She has contributed for development of Agriculture in Yilo Krobo, a green municipality in the eastern region of Ghana through her extension service programs for the agric industry .
The queen revealed that, part of her ambition is to empower women into agriculture and make them self-sufficient to contribute to nation’s building.
