Accra, Ghana — The New Ghana Social Justice Forum (NGSJF) has initiated legal action against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over concerns that tickets allocated to Ghana for the upcoming FIFA World Cup have not been made readily accessible to the general public. The case, filed under Suit Number GT/0S73/2026, seeks to address what the Forum describes as a lack of transparency in the distribution of the highly sought-after tickets.

According to the Forum, with the FIFA World Cup roughly 90 days away, many Ghanaian football fans remain uncertain about how and where to legitimately obtain official tickets for the tournament. The organization claims that efforts by members of the public to find clear information through the GFA’s official website and other communication channels have been difficult and confusing.
The New Ghana Social Justice Forum argues that the lack of clarity surrounding ticket access could create opportunities for exploitation by intermediaries, including individuals posing as “visa connection” agents or ticket brokers. The Forum believes that such a situation could lead to unfair practices, monopolization of ticket access, and possible corruption that would disadvantage ordinary Ghanaian supporters.
As part of its advocacy for transparency, fairness, and accountability, the Forum has formally summoned the Ghana Football Association through the courts. The legal action aims to compel the football governing body to provide clear and transparent mechanisms for the public to obtain World Cup tickets allocated to Ghana.
A spokesperson for the Forum emphasized that attending the World Cup to support the national team should not be restricted to a privileged few.
“We believe that the opportunity to support the national team on the world stage should not be limited to a select few. Access to World Cup tickets must be transparent and fair to all Ghanaian citizens,” the spokesperson stated.
The Forum further noted that transparent ticket distribution would allow individuals to independently purchase tickets and proceed with visa applications and travel arrangements without relying on middlemen. According to the group, such transparency would reduce the risk of fraud and exploitation often associated with unofficial travel and ticket arrangements.
The New Ghana Social Justice Forum is therefore calling on relevant authorities and stakeholders to ensure that the ticket allocation process is handled in line with principles of fairness, integrity, and public accountability. The organization believes that such measures would align with the global values of fair play and equal opportunity promoted by FIFA.
Additionally, the Forum has advised Ghanaian supporters planning to travel for the tournament to strictly comply with visa conditions and avoid overstaying in host countries.
The New Ghana Social Justice Forum describes itself as a civic advocacy organization dedicated to promoting social justice, transparency, fairness, and accountability within public institutions and national governance.
The outcome of the case, Suit Number GT/0S73/2026, is expected to draw significant public attention as many football fans across the country await clarity on how they can legitimately secure tickets to support Ghana on the world stage.
